Enthuse Identity
Note: If you use multiple devices for Enthuse, e.g. a work and home computer, you will need to use the magic link shown below.
Enthuse Identity has replaced email/ password and 2 Factor Authentication (2FA) with passkeys-based log-ins. This provides stronger security and a smoother log-in experience, as well as removing the need to remember or manage passwords or change the number associated with 2FA.
As part of this improved security, it will no longer be possible to use a shared email address for logging in, so please ensure all your users set up their own unique Enthuse Identity, against an individual email address.
Please clear your cache and cookies before attempting to set up your enthuse identity for best results - if for any reason this doesn’t work, try setting your Identity up in a private browsing window Also, consider using an incognito or private browsing window to avoid interference from other saved logins.
For best results, follow these browser-specific instructions:
Microsoft Edge: Menu (three dots) > New InPrivate Window
Google Chrome: Menu (three dots) > New Incognito Window.
Passkeys
Enthuse is introducing the use of passkeys to your account to allow you to sign in.
Passkeys offer a simple and secure way to sign in without using passwords. With passkeys, you can authenticate your account using biometrics (like Face ID or fingerprint), a PIN, or a device lock.
Note: This Passkey option is best for those users who use the same device to access Enthuse everyday
This guide will walk you through creating a passkey for your account.
Why Use Passkeys?
Passkeys make your online experience both safer and more convenient.
More Secure: No passwords means fewer risks from phishing attacks.
Faster Logins: Sign in instantly with device authentication.
What You’ll Need
Before you begin registration, make sure you have:
A supported device (smartphone, tablet, or computer): Your device must support passkeys, which are available on most modern devices with biometric authentication or secure PIN options.
A compatible browser or app: Popular browsers like Chrome, Safari, Edge, and Firefox support passkeys.
Biometric authentication or secure sign-in enabled: If you’re using biometrics (e.g., fingerprint or facial recognition), ensure your device's settings are set up for Windows Hello, Touch ID, or Face ID. For PIN, make sure your device’s lock feature is enabled.
Step-by-Step Guide
Log in as you usually would for your Enthuse account
You will be redirected to set up an identity and passkey
Select ‘Create my Enthuse identity’.
Note: Display names are how you will be represented in Enthuse. Display names can only include alphanumeric characters, spaces, apostrophes, or hyphens and must be a maximum of 30 characters.
Create Your Passkey
You'll be able to choose one of the following passkey options:
Biometric Authentication: Use Face ID or fingerprint recognition.
PIN or Device Lock: Use your device’s PIN, password, or lock screen method.
Trusted Device: Use your Phone/Tablet to scan an on screen QR code
Magic Link: Have a one-time login link sent to your email address
Device Passkey:
After creating your identity you'll be prompted by your device to set up a passkey.
Save Your Passkey
Your device will ask if you want to save your passkey.
Confirm and store it securely on your device or cloud-based manager (e.g., iCloud Keychain or Google Password Manager).
You should now be successfully registered in Enthuse and can now login with your account details and passkey.
Below is a short video on the journey you'd take on an Apple device.
The journey is very similar if you are using Windows Hello.
Alternate Registration Method - using a trusted device
If you cannot use passkeys on your device or if Windows Hello cannot be enabled, you can register using your mobile device or tablet by following these instructions:
If you are prompted to create a device passkey, just select 'Cancel' until the following screen appears:
Click the button for your unique QR code
Note: Occasionally, due to your device settings, this may not work first time. You may be redirected to the following screen. Simply click "try again", as we'll have changed some settings behind the scenes!
Scan your unique QR code on the screen with your phone or tablet, and follow the instructions on your device to save a passkey for Enthuse.
If you encounter issues where the setup screen shows a security key instead of the option to scan a QR code, look for the "change" option in the bottom right of the pop up. Select "change" and choose to scan a QR code using your phone instead.
Note: Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on both your laptop and phone/tablet for this to work effectively
Once you've completed this, we'll ask you to scan once again to verify your device:
When successful, you'll see a 'Device Connected!' prompt on your computer.
You can now login to Enthuse using your phone or tablet.
Alternate Registration Method - Magic Link (MFA)
If you cannot use passkeys on your device, if Windows Hello cannot be enabled, and you are unable to set up with another trusted device, you can register using a magic link by following these instructions:
This method requires you to have an authenticator app installed on your phone. If you don’t have an authenticator app, install one from your app store (e.g., Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator).
If you are prompted to create a passkey or use a trusted device, just select 'Cancel' until the following screen appears:
Select 'Log in with a magic link.
You will be prompted to scan a QR code using an authenticator app (e.g Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator etc) and approve by entering the code that appears once this has been added to your app.
Enter the 6 digit code listed under "Enthuse Cloud" on your Authenticator app
Note: If you are using Magic Link with MFA and your authenticator app is Authy, please ensure you are using the correct Authy code: Look for "Enthuse Cloud" (6 digits) in your Authy app, NOT "Enthuse" (7 digits, which is for the old SSO system and will cause an error).
An email will be sent to you with your "magic link" to log in.
The email will look like the below:
When you click the log in link, we will verify you by asking you to enter the 6 digit code again:
Once complete we will confirm this is your new login method
Passkeys FAQ
What’s a passkey?
A passkey lets you sign in without a password using something you have (your computer or mobile phone) + something you are or know (Face, fingerprint, or PIN). It’s phishing-resistant and easier than passwords.
Windows Passkey FAQs
How do I use passkeys on Windows?
Turn on Windows Hello
Windows 10/11: Settings → Accounts → Sign-in options
Set up Face, Fingerprint, or PIN (at least the PIN is required).
The PIN prompted during setup refers to your device's existing unlock PIN, not one set specifically by Enthuse. Examples include the Windows Hello PIN.
If Windows Hello is disabled by your IT department, contact them to enable Windows Hello and passkeys on your device. To find out more about how to enable Windows Hello click here
How do I use my phone as the passkey?
If you are unable to setup a passkey on your device, you can instead set up a mobile passkey by skipping the first passkey prompt.
Enable Bluetooth on your computer and your mobile device.
Go through passkey set up, and use your phone to scan the QR code.
Approve on your phone when it buzzes; keep your phone and PC close (Bluetooth proximity is required).
Note: For this method it is important to ensure both your phone and computer are set to the same timezone.
If you are blocked from setting up a passkey on your device, contact your IT department about enabling Windows Hello and passkeys.
Common fixes (Windows)
Use the same browser where the passkey was created
Clear site data for Enthuse Identity (‘identity.enthuse.cloud’) in the browser settings and retry.
Update Windows.
Update browser
Ensure Windows Hello is set up (PIN/biometrics).
Check Bluetooth is on (for phone-as-passkey).
If you’re on a work PC, your IT policies might block passkeys/Windows Hello (see below).
Please ensure your phone and device are on the same time. This will vary by device, but date & time on both devices should be set to 'Automatic date and time' (for magic link as passkey)- Ensure you are signed into the same browser profile where the passkey was created, as switching profiles may prevent access.
Use the same browser and device where the passkey was originally created to avoid conflicts.
PIN Troubleshooting
If you encounter a PIN prompt during setup:
Ensure the PIN requested is your device's security PIN, such as the Windows Hello PIN.
Some devices use a PIN instead of password when it comes to logging into your PC/Laptop user account - try this PIN
Check your device’s settings to confirm or reset the PIN if necessary.
For IT teams: Passkeys/Windows Hello are disabled, what should we enable?
Minimum to allow passkeys on Windows:
Windows Hello: Enabled (via Intune or Group Policy).
WebAuthn/FIDO2: Allow platform authenticators (built-in Windows Hello) and roaming keys (optional).
Edge/Chrome: Allow passkeys (platform authenticator) in browser policies.

How do I switch my login method?
If you have set up passkeys, trusted device or multi-factor authentication through a magic link and you wish to change this, you will need to contact our support team to action this for you.
For persistent passkey issues, ensure you have tried device/browser troubleshooting steps from the sections above before contacting support.
Sign-in Method Visibility (Passkey & Magic Link)
If you use multiple logins or feel you might forget which method you have used, we'll show both sign-in options – passkey and magic link, on the sign-in screen.
We'll remember which method you used when you last signed in, and show that option first next time you visit. This will help guide you to the right choice, especially if you’ve used different sign-in methods before.
If the wrong option is selected, we’ll send a helpful email reminder explaining which sign-in method to use.
